The history of golf

Created in 1908 by Arnaud Massy, who was also behind the golf club of the Phare in Biarritz and the Royal Golf Club of Marrakesh in 1918.

Although it presents various technical challenges (with many bunkers and raised greens), this 5,290m 18-hole golf course remains, nevertheless, with its great variety of trees, a genuine intra-mural park located within the walls of Vichy on the banks of Lac d’Allier, facing the 5 star VICHY CÉLESTINS Spa Hôtel complex. Its close proximity means visitors can take advantage of all the attractions the city of Vichy has to offer.

Throughout its existence, this course has had the great fortune to host all the great national and international tournaments, so that today it has become an indispensable destination for those who are passionate for the history of golf and history generally. That's why a visit of the chalet, and especially the great hall, will give visitors the opportunity to contemplate the events that have marked its history, just like at St. Andrews.
